 Elizabeth B. Anderson Biography

I am a visual artist living in the Fraser Valley of BC with roots in southwestern Ontario.
Two things I love are the creative process and problem solving.  At Simon Fraser University I explored the language of film and dance in theory and practice. It was exciting to find ways of communicating through images and movement and to study how choreographers and film makers used light, movement and sound to convey thought and emotion. Both can have a dynamic visceral approach to story telling. I loved to “move” as a dancer and I will always remember that feeling.
I am a graduate of Kwantlen University Polytechnic Visual Arts BFA program. I found that a similar discipline and stamina as was in dance also were required in visual art. There was and still is a challenge to merge creative and cognitive thought with handling a range of materials. These experiences strengthened my resolve through the transition from student to emergent artist.

I have exhibited in juried and group gallery exhibits including the Surrey Art Gallery, Richmond Art Gallery and Seymour Gallery. Recently I joined the Fort Gallery Collective and also am on the Langley Arts Council board. I love teaching art to children at the local community centre.
