I'm excited to see that you're into encaustic work. I love encaustic! I'll be interested to read about the process. I saw that you mentioned Wilderness Downtown. I saw it for the first time last night. We immediately sent it to friends for their birthdays in various parts of the world! Thanks for commenting also. I laughed because the studio/gallery is more a dream than reality, but it's been met with enthusiasm so we may have to investigate. Keep on sharing your journey, I love it!
Thank you Betty, I am back to familiar territory with a twist. I've done this technique before using door skin but this time it's on canvas. I was worried the hot air gun would burn the canvas but so far everything is god.
Thanks Monika, I am using cold wax method. My little kitchen studio doesn't accommodate the hot wax but this method still gives an interesting effect. I plan to build up the layers to give as much depth as possible after all space goes on forever. I'm looking forward to painting in the Milky Way.
Did you know that Saturn is close to the earth right now. I missed it when it was its closest. But I got the binoculars out to look at it. It's incredible. There were burst of sparkle like fireworks. I later read that Saturn's moons are pelting each other creating these bursts.
It looks interesting already! I can't wait to see more...
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan. I'm really excited. Working with encaustic paint is not as predictable as straight oil which makes it an adventure.
ReplyDeleteInteresting process, the texture and color looks great!
ReplyDeletewow i love this so far! perhaps you can show me how to use encaustic paint when i get home? :) please! hehe
ReplyDeleteDeal if you show me the silkscreen process. :D
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you're having so much fun exploring across the ocean.

Love the dark moody buildup of texture and color, like a symphony. I can actually hear the colors. Can't wait to see the crescendo!
